WOC training camp in Estonia

Last week I spent 9 days in Estonia together with the norwegian national team. We got a good training week, and could increase our experience with the estonian terrain. We also got three high intensity quality trainings, in which two of them were together with the danish national team. The estonian terrain is tough, due to vegetation, but except of the marshes the ground is quite fast. I like the terrain, and look forward to spending more time in Estonia already in less than a month.

Training Camp and Sprint Relay in Tessin

Thursday to Sunday last weekend I went to Tessin together with my swiss club OL Norska, to train for the European Championship (EOC) which will be organized in Tessin in 2018. We trained several EOC relevant forest and sprint trainings, as well as participating in the unofficial swiss championships in sprint relay Saturday, and a middle distance race on Sunday. On the sprint relay the "raskt tog team" of OL Norska won a tripple victory with team 1, 2 and 3 taking all the podium positions! I ran 1st leg for team 2, which consisted of Simon Dubach (2nd), Joey Hadorn (3rd) and Simone Niggli (4th), and changed over in 3rd position.

Kerzerslauf and 1. Nationaler

This weekend I started the orienteering national season in Switzerland, with the 1. Nationaler in Winterthur on Sunday. I ran a technical stable middle distance race, with only two minor mistakes, which resulted in a 6th position. The day before I ran the 5km at Kerzerslauf. The 5km had quite much elevation, and varied between paved streets, forest streets and small paths. I started out controlled, and managed to keep a constant pace through out the race, finishing 9th overall and 6th in my category on a time of 19:36.
