6th at Venla

The Venla Relay is always a highlight, and so it was also this year. We had the exact same team as last year with Sarina Jenzer at 1st, me at 2nd, Simone Niggli at 3rd and Sabine Hauswirth at the 4th. In the flat terrain with ice age depression the relay became a tight competition. Sarina started well, and changed over to me in 11th position. I ran safely through my leg, except one mistake towards the end and could send out Simone as 6th. Simone ran well, and brought us into the lead. Sabine ran a safe last leg, but did not have the power to follow the fastest girls. She, however, secured our goal of a top 6 position, by running us in to the 6th position! Fun that we could run with the leading teams through out the whole relay! Thank you to everyone in the raskt tog team and OL norska for the whole road to Venla!

WOC training Camp in Latvia

Monday after the Norwegian Champs. in Sprint I went to Latvia with the National Team. I had been selected to the camp after my results at EOC. We got a nice, but tough training week with several training compititions. I decided to take it easy on the middle distance on Tuesday, but ran well in the relay training on Wednesday and the sprint races on Saturday and Sunday despite tired legs. The long distance on Friday however I wanted to run fast, but my legs did not, so I ran through the course at a bit lower intensity than planned. All in all the training compititions were a nice chance to test were I stand in the terrain type, and I could learn a lot.

Norwegian Champs. Sprint and Sprint Relay

The Norwegian Championships in Sprint and Sprint Relay were held in Stavanger and Sandnes two weeks after EOC (26.-27.05.). In the qualification I felt a little rusty, but did an ok race winning my heat. In the Sprint Finale the same afternoon I started a little too slow, but found better into the race after some controls and ran a good race. I was in the fight for the medals until the finish, but ended 4th just seconds behind silver and bronse. In the Sprint Relay the day after I ran the 1st leg, and due to shorter forking to control 1, I was in the lead more or less all the way, and won the leg. My teammates Anders Haga, Øistein Fagerli Næss og Kristine Eide Rapp all fought well, and we ended as 19th.
